The other main is Philippa, a highborn Lady, who would rather read her books than be shopped around for a husband. ![]() Tommy, -pronoun her- is a master of disguise and enjoys playing the role or both men and women. I really liked that this was a female/non-binary romance. Ridley fills in the few holes that I needed to know so it really is fine if you start here. While this is the second book in the series, I did not read the first book and I don’t feel like I missed anything. It had a great cast of characters, a strong romance, and a fun side story that kept me turning the pages. ![]() I’m a big fan of queer Regency romances so I was happy that this was as fun as I hoped. This was a really cute, historical-fiction romance. ![]()

As an ever-present being, immortal with the ability to prolong the journey as an objective, God’s existence is that which humans desire. Just as existence is the motive for humans to live and wonder, so too does existence promote the desire for closeness with God. This is where Unamuno introduces religion into his philosophy.
